Iris Sync · the irisnote Chrome extension
From irisnoteto your EHR, in one click.
No more copying and pasting section by section. Iris Sync sits beside the patient's chart, matches the visit, and fills the note into the EHR's own fields — after you've reviewed exactly what goes where.

One panel beside the chart
irisnote writes the note from your visit. Iris Sync brings it to the chart — and back again when you record from the EHR.
Follows the chart you open
Open a patient in your EHR and the side panel shows their irisnote visits. Name, date of birth and record number are checked before anything is filled.
Review, then fill
Every part of the note is listed with the field it goes into. Untick what you don’t want, edit a value, then fill — chief complaint to diagnoses in one click.
Record from the EHR
Start an irisnote recording right from the panel while the chart is open, or float the panel over your EHR on a small screen.
Set up in three steps
No IT ticket, nothing to install in your EHR.
Add Iris Sync to Chrome
Install it from the Chrome Web Store and pin it to your toolbar. Sign in with your irisnote account in the panel.
Turn on your EHR
In irisnote Settings → EHR integrations, add the EHR you use and choose where each part of the note goes.
Open a chart, review, fill
Open the patient’s encounter. Send the note from irisnote — or pick the visit in the panel — review it, and fill.
Into the EHR's own fields
Not one block of text pasted into a box: each part of the note goes to the section where it belongs — or the whole note as text, if that's how you prefer to work. Your choice, per EHR.
- Chief complaint
- History of present illness
- Review of systems
- Vitals
- Physical exam
- Assessment & plan
- ICD-10 diagnoses
- The whole note as text
Supported EHRs
Every clinic address. CC/HPI, HPI, review of systems, vitals, physical exam, ICD-10 diagnoses and Quick Notes.
SOAP and Progress Note encounters, ICD-10 diagnoses, the Vitals flowsheet, and copying a past visit into today’s encounter.

You stay in control
- The chart’s patient is checked against the irisnote visit before anything can be filled.
- Nothing is filled until you click Fill, and only the items you ticked.
- Fields that already have content are left alone unless you choose to replace them.
- Iris Sync never saves or signs the chart — you review it and save it in your EHR.
- After filling, you see what was filled and anything that couldn’t be.
Built for patient privacy
- Works only on irisnote and on the EHRs you turn on in Settings.
- The note waiting to be filled stays in your browser’s session storage, cleared when the browser closes, never synced.
- An audit log records which fields were filled and when — never the content.
- Your data is never sold, shared with third parties or used for advertising.

Frequently asked questions
Which EHRs does Iris Sync work with?
EHI Connect and Practice Fusion today, in Google Chrome. We add EHRs based on what our physicians use — if yours isn’t listed, email support@irisnote.ai and tell us which one.
What does it cost?
Iris Sync is free to install. It works with your irisnote account, so you need an active irisnote subscription to use it.
Do I need IT support or EHR setup?
No. Install it from the Chrome Web Store, turn on your EHR in irisnote Settings, and open a patient’s chart. Nothing is installed in your EHR and no interface needs to be configured.
Will it change my chart without me?
No. Iris Sync checks the chart’s patient against the irisnote visit, shows you every item it would fill and where, and fills only what you tick, when you click Fill. Fields that already contain something are left alone unless you choose to replace them. It never saves or signs the chart — you do that in your EHR as usual.
Can I choose where each part of the note goes?
Yes. In irisnote Settings → EHR integrations, each EHR has its own configuration: send a part of the note to its own section in the EHR, to the EHR’s whole-note box, to both, or not at all.
Is it secure?
Iris Sync only works on irisnote and on the EHRs you turn on. The note waiting to be filled stays in your browser’s session storage and is cleared when the browser closes; the audit log records which fields were filled, never their content. See our Privacy Policy for the details.
Does it work on a tablet, phone or other browsers?
Iris Sync is a Google Chrome extension for your computer (Chrome 116 or later). You can keep using irisnote on any device and fill the note from Chrome when you’re at the chart.
